Water can be the answer to many questions you may have. Why do I feel sick? You’re dehydrated. Why am I so tired? You’re dehydrated. Why do I have a headache? You’re dehydrated. Little do we know it, we are not getting enough water to fuel our body. I’m going to tell you 4 reasons you should drink more water.
Drinking water can help maintain and balance your body fluids. The human body is made up of about 60% water. Our body needs continuous amounts of water so digestion, circulation, creation of saliva, and the transportation of nutrients will stay regular. When your body is low on fluids, the brain will trigger the body’s thirst mechanism. (A tip that has always stuck with me is your pee should never be bright yellow or perfectly clear. Find the balance, and that is how you should know how much water to drink!)
Water is a great weight loss strategy. Water may not have special powers to make you automatically lose weight, but it can substitute for higher calorie beverages. ( I tend to drink a lot of water before eating. This helps control if I’m actually hungry, or just bored.) Food with higher water content tends to look larger, but is also less dense in calories. This helps you feel more full, and is absorbed slower by the body. These foods include fruits, vegetables, broth-based soups, oatmeals, and beans.
Why does your body feel fatigue? The simple answer may just be you aren’t drinking enough water. Water herpes energize your muscles. Cells that don’t maintain a balance of fluids and electrolytes will tend to shrivel down. This can result in muscle fatigue. Muscles without the proper amount of nutrients won’t perform as well. When you exercise, your body is heating up, making you produce more sweat. This means you are losing liquids and should be drinking more water to fulfill your body’s needs.
Drinking more water is a great way to improve your skin. Our skin functions as a protective barrier to prevent excess fluid loss. Dehydration will make our skin more dry and wrinkled. By drinking more water, you can help lock in the moisture for your skin and create a stronger barrier.
These are only a few reasons why you should be drinking more water. If you want to find a good amount of water to drink, take your weight in pounds and divide it by 2. Then, add 25 to it. If you need a simpler answer, just drink more water!
